Katherine Jenkins - A Girl from Neath

A warm programme full of interesting and personal information in the company of one of the twenty first century’s biggest stars – Katherine Jenkins. Katherine returns to her home town of Neath and visits some of her most loved places in the area. Keeping her company is her mother Susan and between the two of them the viewer is given the opportunity to get to know Katherine better. Although her life now is filled with glitz and glamour Katherine is still a Neath girl at heart who enjoys coming home and walking those old paths with her friends.

The story begins in Katherine’s primary school where she performed for the public for the first time when she was only four hears old. Next we visit St David’s Cathedral a place that played an integral part in Katherine’s youth. Katherine was a member of the church choir of which she has fond memories. From the cathedral we head to Gnoll Country Park where the children of Neath sped their time during the summer holidays. Katherine talks of her o so important holidays in the Gower and of the songs she and her family would sing throughout the car journey.

The programme concludes in Margam park, another location that played an important part in Katherine and her family’s life. As a child Katherine never imagined that later in her career she would host her own personal festival at that very location in 2007.
